I bought this unit as a backup for my sump pump. Initially, I had some problems with a leaking garden hose and the unit would get clogged with debris & sediment (used my water heater as a supply port). The device pumps a lot of water. I tested it and it pumped water up 4-5 feet through 50 feet of piping! I will buy a 1″ PVC pipe to extend the pumps suction into my sump pit (as stated in the manual). Also, no DVD is included, but the packaging has changed.
Pros:
NO moving parts>high project reliability
Very cheap (a reliable pump will cost well over $100)
Relatively efficient
Quality material (I own other products from this company, which I have been happy with)
CON;
Tubing looks like garbage, but I did not use it nor intend to.

|Absolutely Wonderful Product!,
Sludge water was a problem in my small pool used for five dogs. I don’t have to tell you how dirty the water gets. What this device is like (as if it came from a mad scientist hiding out in the mountains). It is as solid as a rock with no moving parts and is as reliable as anything man has ever made best. It drained the pool with great speed, light as a feather, and is not any less than perfection for what it does! My thanks to the inventor, and manufacturer, the low price is incredible. I highly recommend this product!

Pros:
- empties a little swimming pool in your backyard in no time.
- makes you want to learn physics to find out how a heck this thing works!
Cons:
- none
Warnings:
- if you want to attach it to a garden hose and water your plants/vegetables, this might not work. At least w/o any additional investments, like a hose adaptor.
- Keep in mind that it consumes water to pump out more water.
