simple but great saw,
like most makita products, this is one is great. i’m a professional framer so i don’t use a jigsaw daily, but i do work in high end homes with lots of barrel drops and round rope lights which require a jigsaw. this isn’t the fanciest saw out there. not lost of features and gadgets and stuff, but it sure gets the job done. nice and powerful motor without any vibrations allowing for nice smooth, straight cuts. plus it’s a great price. If your a framer like me or just doing some stuff around the house, this is a great saw, especially for the price. but if you’re more in the finishing or furniture making, maybe a saw with some more options is for you.

Really like the saw;glad I purchased it, but was disappointed when I tried to find the Type B blades it uses. None of the retail stores I checked out had them. Then I finally came across a web site that list all the B type blades, plus the Bosch equivalents of them at Toolshopdirect.com

This is a jig saw for those of us who want a simple, sensible sized jig saw with plenty of power and accuracy. The new top end saws are simply too big and heavy. This saw works beautifully for what I need a jig saw to do.
